This city was founded in 1300 and it’s known for its architecture and for more famous ‘Certosa di Padula’. Open all year round. La Certosa, built in 700 on a surface of 51.000 square meters, is rich in vessels that have remained unchanged over time, the baroque altars, woods and precious majolica. You can visit the apartment of the Prior, the Chapel, the Library, the Cloister, the cemetery, the refectory and the kitchen, the latter famous for an omelette of 1.000 eggs consumed by Charles V and his entourage during a stop.
